Prepared by Three-Way Monthly

Reviewed and approved by the responsible attorney

Date

Prepared from the firm's Clio Manage exports and bank statement. Not an audit and not a compliance opinion. The responsible attorney decides how each variance is resolved and remains responsible for the trust account.

Four files a month

Once your statement posts, export three reports from Clio Manage and add the statement your bank provides. That's the whole monthly ask.

  1. In Clio Manage, open Reports, then Client reports.
  2. Export Bank account activity, Trust ledger and Trust listing for the month, as CSV.
  3. Download the month's statement from your bank as a PDF.
  4. Send all four. The report is back by the 10th business day.

The sum of client balances on the Trust listing

One price, every month

$129 a month

For one trust account. Each additional trust account is $39 a month.

A first month with no prior reconciliation to start from, or months of catch-up, is quoted separately before we begin.

  • The three-way report, by the 10th business day after you upload the month
  • Deposits in transit and outstanding checks, listed by date and number
  • Each client's balance, with any negative or unlinked balance flagged
  • Every difference tied to the statement and ledger lines it comes from
  • What we couldn't determine, stated plainly instead of guessed
  • A sign-off block for your attorney

Your first month is refundable in full any time before we start, and if we can't complete the report from what you send, we refund that month in full.

Who does what

We prepare

  • Match every statement line to your Clio ledger.
  • Set the adjusted bank balance, the trust ledger and the client ledgers side by side.
  • List each difference with the lines it comes from, and what the files can't show.

Your attorney decides

  • Reviews the report and decides how each difference is resolved.
  • Signs and dates it, and stays responsible for the trust account.
  • Remains the only signatory on the account.

We never

  • Log in to Clio or your bank, or move or disburse money.
  • Certify compliance, audit, or give legal or accounting advice. For that, talk to a licensed professional.
  • Paste your files into consumer AI tools.

Before you send a single file, we both sign a written confidentiality agreement. We keep the prior month's report to carry balances forward and delete everything else after delivery.

Why it has to be monthly

Your state's rule sets your firm's cadence. Ask your bar if you're unsure.

Request your first month

Tell us about your trust accounts. We reply by email with the confidentiality agreement and what we need for your first month. Nothing is charged and no files change hands until you say go.

Questions

Is this an audit or a compliance opinion?

No. It's the monthly reconciliation your firm keeps on file, prepared from your own records. Your attorney reviews and signs it. It doesn't certify compliance with any state's rules.

Do you need access to our bank account or to Clio?

No. You export three reports from Clio and download the bank statement. We never log in to Clio or the bank, and never move or disburse money.

What if the three balances don't agree?

The report lists each difference with the lines it comes from. Where the files show the cause, we name it; where they don't, we say so. Your attorney decides the fix.

Clio already has a reconciliation screen. Why pay for this?

You can do it yourself in Clio. This is for firms where nobody wants to own it every month: we do the matching and the write-up, and your attorney reviews and signs.

What about months we never reconciled?

Tell us in your request. A first month with no prior reconciliation, or months of catch-up, is quoted separately before we begin.

How do our files get to you?

After you request your first month, we send the confidentiality agreement. Once it's signed, you send the files by email or as a link to a folder you control.
